  • Wollongong & Bowral Wedding Photographers

Hi, Thanks for coming to visit us!

We are Anna and Zea, two very enthusiastic and passionate wedding photographers.

Our home is by the sea just north of Wollongong, so you can imagine we are known as Wollongong Wedding Photographers, but we are more than that! We have photographed weddings all over the world, and do the majority of our Wedding Photography in Bowral in the Southern Highlands.

Capturing authentic, natural emotions is what we do, creating your story in images. We don't know how to do anything by halves, putting every ounce of creativity we can into every story.

We know how important choosing your photographer is, so please have a look at our images and get to know us a little.

We love to have a chat, so drop us a line or pick up the phone!

On a balmy afternoon at Ravensthorpe an engagement cocktail party was supposed to happen.  Little did everyone know it was about to turn into the best wedding surprise celebration to hit Wollongong!

Kristie and Wilko met 9 years ago when they were both working at North Gong Pub. They disagree about who asked for whose number, but luckily one of them got it right!  They love crossfit and travel, with a focus on places that are close to nature and off the beaten track – like seeing Kristie’s beloved Moon Bears in China or Vietnam.

Wilko proposed in Alaska after chartering a helicopter and having it land on top of a glacier, completely out of the blue. Kristie thought she was going to a conservation centre but ended up at a little rural hanger, and up they went!  They hadn’t planned on marriage for at least a couple more years so it really was out of the blue… she cried for days.

Kristie has been part of the wedding industry for years, first in a Wedding Duo, and then as a fantastic Wedding Celebrant (Check her out here) so originally they were going to elope as they didn’t want their entire lives taken over by a wedding! They decided to tell everyone they were getting married in Noosa (even getting suppliers to go along with it and tagging them in Facebook!) but as they still wanted a celebration organised an “engagement” party.  Apart from myself, only Kristie’s Mum & sister knew and Deb from Ravensthorpe.  The whole day was planned in 14 weeks, and they stayed together the night before, enjoying the secret in their own little love bubble!

Having a surprise wedding has a few hurdles to jump.  For instance getting everyone to the venue at the same time (no one cares too much if they run late to an engagement party)!  Kristie organised buses to pick everyone up on the day, and had gorgeous little printed information cards to give them as they got off the bus…“We regret to inform you our engagement party has been cancelled – Welcome to our Wedding”!   You will see lots of excited faces in the blog as the secret gets revealed:)

My favourite part was the ceremony vows, they worked really hard on them and everyone, including myself, was in tears.

The great thing I found about Kristie and Wilko was that they let the professionals do the job and didn’t micro manage. From the menu to the flowers, they said “you know what works” and really listened to all our ideas.  It certainly made the day a lot more relaxing for everyone.

Suppliers were:

Reception: Ravensthorpe on the South Coast.  A family run business, Deb and Jim are the best at what they do. There is nobody who knows hospitality the way that they do – end of story.

Flowers: Leah Mitchell Floral.

Gown:  Cheboom Bridal.  Tanya from Cheboom is amazing!

Stylist:  Janelle from By George Creative Events – The Donut wall was epic!

Rings:  Meakins Jewellers.  Kristie wanted plain and simple, and Penny from Meakins Jewellers helped with a beautiful, simple gold band.

Makeup:  Maria T

Celebrant:  Jamie Borg. Fellow celebrant and possible nemesis, when they met it could have been awkward, but they became instant friends!

    This is just perfect. Really.

Laura and Ryan met at work.  They were a little bit wary at first as Ryan is Laura’s boss!  After many long hours of talking and flirting, they finally started dating.  As they love wineries, the love struck couple went up to the Hunter Valley for their two year anniversary.  They went 4 wheel driving (yes, they both love that too!) up in the Pokolbin Mountains and found a beautiful private lookout, and that is where Ryan popped the question and asked Laura to marry him.

Both the Ceremony & Reception were held at Crooked River Winery, and as you can see it is the best place to take photos!

The day of the wedding was bright blue sunshine, and even though it was scheduled to be a scorcher the winery is on a hill that gets the wonderful North Easterly breeze, so we were all very happy.  Our bridal party were a bunch of crazies – check out the groom planking on the Love sign!  My favourite part of this day was the groom’s wedding speech which was so romantic and caring, even I was crying.

Crooked River Winery in Gerringong is the best kept secret on the south coast of NSW!  There are very few places where the sweeping country landscape meets the ocean with amazing views of both, and this is one of them!  Crooked River Wines is a proud family-owned and operated winery, and even has their own Boutique beers.  If you are someone who is keen on natural methods for your wines, Crooked River hand beats the grapes and uses premium French & American oak barrels. They are the largest vineyard on the NSW south coast.  You think that it couldn’t get better, right?  Well it can, because they also have fabulous accommodation for your family and Bridal party.

Gerringong on the south coast is a great place for a destination wedding, so get yourself down there.south coast wedding crooked river winery gerringong_0001

    You are too kind!

Requests for RAW files are becoming more common, as uninformed wedding blog sites tell new brides what to do.  I find that clients making these requests often don’t really understand what these files are.  As a wedding photographer, I wanted to give you some correct information regarding the digital files and what to expect, and to explain why we give you your digital copies (the finished edited photos) in JPEG format.

Brilliant!! Imagine going into a restaurant and asking the chef for the ingredients to bake the cake yourself.Or the hair salon, asking the stylist to mix the colour so you can apply it yourself.
