Problem was, she was planning on moving to London and had to break the news to him just as things were starting to go well.  Hayley lived in London for two years, with Nick always taking the time and initiative to keep in touch.  It was obvious to Nick that Hayley was “the one”, so a year into the separation Nick organised a trip around Europe, and of course made sure there was plenty of time to visit Hayley!  They met in Prague (good choice Nick!) and sparks flew. They had a wonderful time and Hayley was back in Australia 6 weeks later.

Gibraltar Hotel is a great venue, as you can have your whole experience in one place.  The day started with the bride and groom preparation in one of the luxurious rooms, with Hayley and her bridesmaids enjoying the enormous Bridal suite which has so much natural light which is a dream for makeup artists and photographers.  There is a choice of indoor or outdoor locations for the Ceremony, and as it was such a wonderful Autumn day, it was a no brainer to go for outdoors by the lake, and we even got to hoon around in golf buggies for the best location images, while the guests had cocktails on the balcony.   Not having to drive anywhere for photographs is so much more relaxing, and it also means your guests are not waiting for too long for you to come back to start the Reception fun.

valutahandel giring Erin & Jay had been together for 8 years before they went on a trip around Europe.   Erin had been wanting to go to the Eiffel tower since day one – what else do you want to do when you get to Paris?!  Jay finally took her on a picnic on a glorious day under the Eiffel tower. He proposed, she said yes, and they got a round of applause from the other picnickers!

opções binárias como ganhar With the help of Erin’s father, Jay built a 2.6×3 metre chalkboard with side folding panels on hinges, and Jay hand designed the written typography that was to cover the board.  Jay also was very keen for them to write their own vows so the ceremony would be personal, with just the right amount of humour and romance.

Erin’s auntie had a bible which had been present at all the family weddings. There was a dried carnation, her grandmother’s wedding photo and a mum’s ‘permission to marry’ letter.

I actually go to the same gym as Erin and Jay, and they had seen my business card on the noticeboard.  Throughout the whole process, we could chat about the wedding and whinge about sore legs from the gym!  Erin had found a really cool little forest near the Wedding venue and wanted some shots there.  Little did I know that it was airfield land with an electric fence, and I received a good ZAP on the way in!  Once there it was a mosquito haven and we were attacked relentlessly. We lasted a few minutes before having to make a hasty exit. You can’t see the chaos from the forest in the photos – we got some amazing shots in the trees with beautiful soft light.

The bridal couple chose Ravensthorpe for their wedding venue as it has just the right blend of elegance and country charm for a beautiful Wedding Ceremony and Reception.  Ravensthorpe is a grand 19th century home purposely restored for contemporary celebrations, nestled on acres of land just south of Wollongong.

Jay has been wanting a Tag watch for years now.  You can see from the photos how happy he was when Erin surprised him!  He always told her if he could have a Tag,  Erin could have 4 puppies!   (4 IOU puppies in the future coming her way)!

Erin and Jay’s advice for a perfect wedding:  Make the focus of the marriage two people that love each other.  So many people get caught up in themes, and colours and extravagant displays that the point of the wedding gets lost.  At the end of the day do whatever makes the both of you happy. On a beautiful summer’s day in Bowral, Juliette and David were married.   Juliette & David knew exactly what they wanted for their wedding – a day full of love, fun and laughter.  When we met to discuss the photography for the wedding, the most important part to be photographed for the couple were moments – expressive, natural, loving moments.  You can imagine how happy I was to hear this!

The Ceremony was in Berrima, at Francis Xavier Catholic Church.  The couple wanted the wedding guests to have a great time, and supplied some pretty awesome wedding games that worked perfectly out on the tranquil gardens at Briars Country Lodge.  Briars is a perfect place to have a wedding, set on 15 acres of rural countryside, and is one of my favourite locations in the Southern Highlands.  There is fabulous accommodation on site for your guests, with French doors opening onto a view of the lake, a beautiful landscaped property complete with Willow trees and ducks, lake-side Gazebo, and a Conservatory/Reception room full of fairy lights.  In winter Briars has the open fires roaring to keep your guests warm as toast.

The bride and groom had only one request from the guests, and that was that the dress code be pastel.  As there was no official bridal party, the couple wanted to mingle with their guests after the Ceremony, and thought a lazy afternoon pastel garden party would photograph really well.

Juliette had so many fantastic ideas for the decorations in the Reception room!  We had a French Monopoly theme with each table being a different Parisian street.  The guests all played a game of “Cards about Matrimony” – a play on “Cards against Humanity” – in two languages – which was hilarious!

Other little touches were:  The Wedding well was a French wicker picnic basket with a baguette and champagne bottle peaking out….Advice for the Bride and Groom were to be written on mini scrolls, tied with string and popped in a box frame….French themed  props for the photobooth…. and who knew you could get cigars called Romeo & Julieta!?

All up it was a wonderful, happy, loved filled event:)

I was lucky to share my New Year’s Eve with a group of wonderful people in the Southern Highlands and celebrate the wedding of Alice and Duncan.

Alice and Duncan met on a night out in Canberra.  They had both studied law at ANU for 5 years and yet had never properly met, so it was a mutual friend that ended up introducing them.  From then on started the commute between Sydney and Canberra, with the loved up couple meeting mid-way at Bowral (where Duncan is from).

To the great surprise of Alice, Duncan proposed last Christmas while on a beach holiday with his grandmother’s beautiful ring.

There were many non traditional aspects of the wedding….

1. Duncan did most of the organising (I love it when a groom does this)!

2. Alice had a “man of honour” – Danny is one of her oldest and dearest friends.

3. She wore a gold wedding dress that was absolutely stunning, as you will see.  Alice found her wedding gown online – it is a Badgley Mischka

4. The marriage was actually a “Civil Union” rather than a traditional Wedding.

5. Obviously being on New Year’s Eve is a little different, but they wanted to entice dear friends and loved ones from all over the world to come, and the Christmas break worked brilliantly to have a giant party!

6. They had a “reveal” where Duncan and Alice got to see each other before the wedding, in private and looking amazing.  This practise is becoming more common and is just the best idea!

It made perfect sense for them to get married in Bowral as they spent so much of their time there together.  Alice and Duncan had all the festivities at Silly Goose Park,  a beautiful property in Burradoo in the Southern Highlands.

Award winning Biota restaurant provided the catering for the event and the food was fabulous!  Helen Harvie at Buds of Glory was responsible for the best floral decor, and Yvette from Ethix once again did a wonderful job on the makeup & hair.  YES (Your Event Solution) provided all the lighting and equipment to help the wedding day go flawlessly.
